Specialist lime rendering, lime plastering and damp solutions for high-end historic homes.

Every service we offer is rooted in heritage craft and delivered with the precision that period buildings demand. We don't offer quick fixes — we deliver lasting solutions.

From lime render and plaster to damp diagnosis and full restoration, our focus is always on the long-term health of the building. That means specifying materials and methods that work with the original fabric rather than against it.

    Lime Rendering

External lime rendering is our signature craft. We apply traditional lime render to protect the structural fabric of your building while allowing it to breathe — essential for any property built before the mid-20th century.

We work with a range of natural hydraulic limes tailored to your building's age, exposure and substrate. Each mix is prepared on site, applied by hand, and finished to the texture and colour that complements your property's character.

We also assess the existing masonry and any previous repairs to ensure the system we apply enhances breathability and reduces long-term maintenance. The result is a heritage-appropriate finish that performs for decades.

    Lime Plastering

Interior lime plaster is the historically correct finish for period walls and ceilings. Unlike modern gypsum, it regulates moisture, resists mould and creates a surface of natural warmth and depth that cannot be replicated.

Our team hand-applies multi-coat lime systems that work in harmony with your building's movement and moisture cycle. The result is a finish that looks beautiful and performs faultlessly for decades.

    Damp Proofing

Damp in period properties is frequently misdiagnosed, leading to unnecessary and often damaging treatments. We investigate the true cause — whether rising damp, penetrating damp, or condensation — and provide the appropriate heritage-sensitive remedy.

Our solutions work with the building rather than against it. Breathable materials and proven techniques that protect the fabric while eliminating the moisture problem at source. No injection creams, no tanking — just proper building science.

    Common Questions

    Frequently Asked

Why should I use lime instead of cement render?
Cement render is rigid and non-breathable, trapping moisture inside older walls and causing long-term damage. Lime render is flexible, breathable and compatible with traditional building materials — allowing your walls to naturally manage moisture while providing excellent weather protection.
How long does lime rendering last?
A properly applied lime render can last 80 to 100 years or more with minimal maintenance. Many historic buildings still have their original lime renders intact after centuries. The key is correct specification, good preparation and skilled application — which is exactly what we provide.
Do you work on listed buildings?
Yes, we regularly work on Grade I and Grade II listed buildings. We understand the planning requirements and can liaise with conservation officers on your behalf. All our methods and materials are heritage-approved.
    What areas do you cover?
We're based in Williton, Somerset and cover the wider South West including Bristol, Taunton, Bath, Bridgwater, Minehead and surrounding areas. For larger projects we're happy to travel further.
Can you match existing lime render colour and texture?
Absolutely. We analyse the existing render to determine the aggregate type, lime binder and any pigments used, then create a bespoke mix to match. Patch repairs blend seamlessly with the surrounding render over time.
